A Night to Remember: Celebrating the Launch of Montlaurel

There are some evenings you wish you could bottle up forever. Our Montlaurel launch party was one of them.

After months of dreaming, planning, renovating, and imagining what this little corner of Madison County could become, we finally opened the property to welcome the people who helped shape Montlaurel into what it is today. Surrounded by family, friends, laughter, music, and glowing string lights, it felt less like a formal venue launch and more like the warmest kind of celebration. Exactly the feeling we hope every couple experiences here.

Montlaurel was always created with connection in mind. We wanted a wedding venue that felt intimate, relaxed, and deeply personal. A place where people could slow down, gather together, and actually enjoy being present. Our launch party gave us the chance to see that vision come to life for the very first time.

As guests arrived, the property began to glow. Long farm tables stretched across the lawn, layered with candles, conversation, and the kind of effortless atmosphere that makes you want to linger for hours. Overhead, string lights twinkled against the evening sky while music drifted across the property and guests explored every corner of the venue.

Dinner was served by Al Carbon, and the food quickly became one of the highlights of the evening. Their fresh, flavorful dishes brought everyone together around the tables in the best way possible. There is something special about sharing a meal outdoors with people you love, especially on a warm Virginia evening with mountain views in every direction.

We also had the honor of having live painter Laura Vahlberg Portraits creating artwork throughout the evening. Watching a painting come to life in real time added such a unique and meaningful touch to the celebration. Guests loved stopping by throughout the night to have their portrait painted, and it reminded us why we love incorporating intentional, artistic details into weddings and events at Montlaurel.

Cocktails for the evening were crafted by ClassieSassie Mixers, who brought so much personality and fun to the bar experience. Alongside signature drinks, we also created one of our favorite spaces of the night: a cozy cigar and whiskey bar tucked into the evening festivities. It quickly became a gathering spot for guests to relax, sip whiskey, share stories, and soak in the atmosphere.

And of course, once the sun went down, the dance floor came alive.

One of our favorite moments from the evening was stepping back for just a second and seeing everyone together under the string lights. Some guests were dancing, some were gathered around the farm tables deep in conversation, and others were wandering the property with drinks in hand. It was joyful, welcoming, and wonderfully relaxed. In many ways, it perfectly reflected what we hope weddings at Montlaurel feel like moving forward.

As a Virginia micro wedding venue and intimate wedding venue in Madison County, we wanted Montlaurel to offer something different. Not just a beautiful backdrop, but a genuine experience. A place where couples can create meaningful moments with the people they love most. Whether that looks like an elegant dinner party under the stars, a cozy elopement weekend, or a dance floor packed with family and friends, we wanted the space to feel flexible, inviting, and personal.

This launch party reminded us why we started this journey in the first place.

To everyone who came out to celebrate with us, thank you. Your support, encouragement, and excitement mean more than we can put into words. Watching Montlaurel filled with life, laughter, and community was incredibly special, and we cannot wait to welcome future couples here to create memories of their own.

This is only the beginning for Montlaurel, and we are so excited for everything ahead.

If you are planning an intimate wedding, micro wedding, or elopement in Virginia, we would love to welcome you here.
